Manly community is extraordinary.  There are all types of events and celebrations here.  Manly is not only about Manly Beach or surf.  On the contrary, it’s so much more…For instance, next week, on August,18th, we are going to honour the services of those veterans who died in Australia’s longest war at the Vietnam’s Veterans Day Ceremony.  Not too many people know the fact that 2015 marks the 49th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.  Needless to say, this is one of the most famous battles for the Australian Army during the Vietnam war.  Book accommodation at a Manly hostel and join the special event!

Where will the celebration take place?

The National Servicemen’s Association Sydney Northern Beaches Sub-Branch with Manly Council will hold a Vietnam Veteran’s Day Memorial Service on Tuesday 18 August at 11am, in front of the Manly War Memorial, The Corso, Manly.  What happens in case it rains?  If this is the case, the service will be held at St Matthews Church, The Corso, Manly.  If you decide to stay at Manly Bunkhouse, you should know that the hostel is about 10 minutes walk from Manly Town Centre.

Everyone is welcome to attend this commemoration which honours the service of Veterans who fought in Australia’s longest war.
